At Tearfil we devote our unlimited passion to create a clean, transparent and forward-looking textile industry.

Tearfil is a short staple, cotton type spinning mill founded in 1973. Initially we used classic ring and open end systems, but in 1987 a high quality fine yarn spinning mill was installed. In 1993 it was complemented with a special production line to spin colored mélanges. In 2000 as part of our company policy on innovation, a spinning laboratory was created, directed to the research and development of new products.
In 2004 Tearfil became only a brand name for yarns when it merged with the company António Almeida & Filhos Textiles SA (AAF) to become a vertical company and respond positively to the challenges of the competitive international market. In 2011 the company was acquired by the Moretextile group, one of the largest industrial groups in the textile sector in Europe.

Since 2019, Tearfil is working independently again under the management of Belém Machado, a private investor with a family background in the spinning business.
